Who can resist the holiday cheer of fresh gingerbread people? The secret to this delicious recipe is yoghurt in the dough!

Ingredient List

  • 6 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon ground ginger
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup Mountain High® original or lowfat plain yoghurt
  • 1/2 cup molasses

Preparation

  1. Mix flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, salt, and baking powder in a large bowl. Set aside.
  2. Mix butter and sugar in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed about 2 minutes. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add vanilla, yoghurt, and molasses; mix well, scraping bowl occasionally.
  3. Add flour, half at a time, on low speed, scraping bowl occasionally, just until mixed.
  4. Turn out cookie dough onto a lightly floured surface. Roll out dough to about 1/8 inch thick. Cut with 4-inch cookie cutters. Place 1-inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350°F for about 15 minutes until slightly browned at edges. Remove from cookie sheet to cooling rack. Cool completely before frosting. Frost as desired.
